Asphalt is a sticky liquid that is common in the Asphalt Mines and in tarry biomes. Items that are covered in asphalt or contain it are tarry or tarred. Walking on asphalt causes a creature to make a strength and agility save of difficulty 24 or a diminishing return based on the total volume of the asphalt. A failed save causes the creature to become stuck for a maximum of 12 turns with a strength difficulty save of 10* Drams/100 every turn to break free. It weighs 0.5 lbs per dram.

Asphalt is a hot liquid, pouring it on something will not decrease its temperature. There is no damage dealt if poured on something, although a creature covered in asphalt may become stuck.

Uses of Asphalt

Consuming Asphalt

Drinking asphalt returns the following message:

It burns!

Doing so does not influence hydration in any way, but will increase the imbiber's temperature by 500, and will deal  1d61-6 (Avg: 3.5) damage and  1d61-6 (Avg: 3.5) more for every 10% of the mixture that is asphalt. For example, 1 dram of pure asphalt will deal  11d611-66 (Avg: 38.5) , 50% asphalt will be  6d66-36 (Avg: 21) (temperature is unaffected).
