Advantages

  • Allows the player to dig through walls, making exploration of areas with locked doors much easier.
  • If the player has pre-release content enabled, they can create staircases when out of combat, allowing for much easier exploration of the underground.
  • Being able to dig through walls gives the player several tactical advantages, such as the ability to create bottlenecks or break line of sight with ranged enemies.
  • Grants between 1 and 3 AV depending on the level, which is comparable to boar-skin gloves, steel gauntlets, and carbide gauntlets, respectively.

Disadvantages

  • Takes up a hands slot, but the AV does not scale well enough to compensate.
  • Penetration bonus only applies to walls.
