Rodanis Y: Difference between revisions

Rodanis Y is a robot presumably constructed by the Barathrumites to defend Grit Gate under dire circumstances. Little is known about Rodanis Y, as they do not speak, and are only mentioned briefly by {{favilink|Otho}} during [[A Call to Arms]], where he tells the player how to activate them.

When first encountered in Grit Gate, Rodanis Y will be {{qud text|&Kdeactivated}}, and will be completely incapable of movement or action or any kind.{{Code Reference|class=ArtificialIntelligence}} Rodanis Y can only be activated after the player acquires the {{favilink|chrome security card}},{{File Ref|file=ObjectBlueprints|name=Object}} which is given to them by Otho at the start of [[Grave Thoughts]]. During A Call to Arms, the player can use [[Ereshkigal]] to remotely activate Rodanis Y at a cost of 100 amps. Otherwise, the player can interact with Rodanis Y while in possession of the chrome security card and {{qud text|&Wa&yctivate}} them manually, or can activate Grit Gate's {{favilink|broadcast power station}} using the chrome security card in order to activate Rodanis Y. (What both the activation via Ereshkigal and the activation via Rodanis Y are actually doing is turning on the broadcast power station.) The player can also {{qud text|&yde&Wa&yctivate}} them in the same way.{{Code Reference|class=RemotePowerSwitch}}{{Code Reference|class=PowerSwitch}} While activated, Rodanis Y will flash {{qud text|&mpurple}}.<ref name="Object"/> Attempting to activate or deactivate Rodanis Y without the chrome security card will fail.

Rodanis Y requires [[energy]] in order to continue operation. They consume 500 energy every turn, and are able to generate 1,000 units every turn via broadcast power,<ref name="Object"/> as long as they are not 3 strata or more below the surface. If there is a {{favilink|broadcast power station}} within the same zone, such as the one within Grit Gate, Rodanis Y can draw power from it instead.{{Code Reference|class=BroadcastPowerReceiver}} If Rodanis Y has no active power source, they will become {{qud text|&Kdeactivated}}.
