In this essay I will aim not to disprove the Very Old Bird-Qon hypothesis, but rather put forth the Great Very Old Bird Syncretic Theory, where geriatric birds are a powerful mythological figure in Qud that is then applied to beings such as Girsh Qon or Ptoh. It should be mentioned that birds can also be associated with psychic might: the Seekers being one example, Qon's domain being {{favilink|Confusion}}, and the {{favilink|Beak}} mutation adding to the bearer's Ego. | |||
But what is it that enraptures Qud so much about elderly birds? Could it be a desire to see the world through the highest vantage points in both space and time, from the perch of a long, wisened mind life, with {{favilink|Wings}} that soar across the skies?
