message from the trash monks

hi Felis77! the trash monks (wiki staff) would like to talk to you about these edits:

foremost, please don't vandalize pages even if you're frustrated. instead, voice disagreements on Talk pages. disagreements are inevitable and i think most of them can be worked out!

we want to make sure you understand that when someone edits work you've done, that isn't saying "your work sucks" or "this edit shouldn't have been made". almost all edits i see, even ones i disagree with, add something and can be built on! i also think it would be less frustrating for you if you spent less time trying to make things perfect on the first try and instead did more of an iterative process in conversation with the other wiki editors. please try to understand editing as a reality and necessity of wiki work

if you want to make an edit that still has significantly placeholder text, we usually do those in "user sandboxes", e.g., make a page at User:Felis77/Sandbox/SomeName and make messy edits there that you later port over to the main page. that way you can still save your progress and get feedback on it even if it is a longer edit, without leaving a page that's confusing to readers. e.g., with "Source: xrl abilities/irisdual beam (or something)", some of why we don't leave this kind of text in articles outside of sandboxes is that it doesn't clearly signal to readers something factual, or to other editors something that needs addressing. in the former case, it should be removed; in the latter, it should use Template:Citation needed or Template:Missing info or the like

that's all. if you decide to stay and keep editing, let's keep talking when issues arise!
