* Baboons are a common killer for beginners who do not know how to deal with ranged enemies. They are unable to throw rocks at what they cannot see, so hiding behind trees/rocks and waiting is suggested instead of chasing them down to get pelted by several of them at once.
* Baboons start hostile to player with their starting reputation unless they start in the hills (with a guaranteed neck-ring) or have [[Thick Fur]], which boosts reputation to neutral levels. Taking either can be a way to avoid combat with them early on.
