When a creature with Evil Twin spawns or moves to a zone that they haven't been in since obtaining Evil Twin, there is a 5% chance that an evil twin of them will spawn. If the originator is the player, a popup appears that says:
It's evil you.

Name is a mental defect that causes the player to be pursued by an "evil twin", an alternate, hostile version of themself.

Every time a player or creature with Evil Twin enters a zone that they've never been to before, there is a 5% chance that an evil twin will spawn on a random tile within that zone. The arrival of the twin will be announced to players by the following message:

&cYou sense a sinister presence nearby.
&cYou sense a sinister presence nearby.

The evil twin is a complete copy of the character, including items, skills, and mutations, with the following exceptions:
This evil twin will be a perfect copy of their progenitor, sharing their level, stats, abilities, mutations, equipment, etc., with a few notable exceptions: they are aligned with highly entropic beings, are colored &Kblack, and are named "Evil [name]". Additionally, they will not have the Evil Twin defect themself. Finally, evil twins will not drop their items on death.

* The twin does not themself have Evil Twin.
Evil twins spawn with an aggressive base demeanor and are hostile to their progenitor, and will seek to destroy them immediately upon spawning, utilizing all of the abilities and items at their disposal to do so. The player's evil twin is able to detect the player even without being able to see them, and thus will pursue them no matter where in the zone they are. The twin will be relentless in this pursuit, preferring to advance on the player even when being attacked by hostile creatures. If the twin is unable to reach the player for any reason, they will remain completely still and will not seek out hostile creatures to fight, though they will defend themself if they are attacked first. They will resume chasing the player as soon as a valid path becomes available.
* They are aligned with highly entropic beings.
* They are aggressive, meaning that it takes more reputation than usual to pacify them.
* They are initially hostile to their originator.

The player character getting killed by their evil twin unlocks the achievement Your Better Half.
The evil twin is not actually a single entity; a new evil twin is created whenever Evil Twin's effect is triggered, even if other twins exist elsewhere in the world. This means multiple twins can exist at one time. Killing one's evil twin will not stop new twins from appearing.

Evil twins of creatures that are part of a party will also be part of that same party. This may override their hostile feelings towards their originator.
Evil twins can be pacified if the player has sufficient reputation with highly entropic beings; however, the player's evil twins will not be friendly when first spawned regardless of the player's reputation, and will only cease hostilities after the player leaves the area and allows sufficient time to pass. Additionally, the player's evil twins are unable to be Beguiling, proselytized, or Domination, and cannot be made lovesickness via a love injector. Evil twins belonging to other creatures will be friendly to players who possess sufficient reputation with highly entropic beings.

If the player is killed by their evil twin, the achievement Your Better Half is unlocked.
Advantages & Disadvantages
Opinion
Advantages
* Grants 3 extra points to spend during character creation
* Low chance of occurrence, and can only occur in new zones
* Much less difficult to deal with if paired with teleportation and confusion- on the same turn the evil twin teleports close, confuse it and it won't use any mental mutations
Disadvantages
* Twins will have the exact same capabilities as the player, without the need to care about how many resources they expend or even surviving, making them even more dangerous than the player is
* A twin showing up in a zone can make already dangerous areas even more so
