They are scattered throughout the rustwells, and can also be found in {{favilink|haberdasher}} inventories. Some can also be found on the {{favilink|flattened remains}}. Wire strands can be found in stacks of various sizes, including stacks of 1, 3, 10, 20, or 50 strands. The stacks will merge into a single item when picked up. Besides the quest, a {{name}} can be deployed on the ground to create {{favilink|power line|plural}}, or over walls to make them [[wired]] – this also requires the [[Gadget Inspector]] skill.
