{{qud shader|r|Wire strands}} are quest items needed to complete [[Weirdwire Conduit.. Eureka!]]. They are scattered throughout the rustwells, and can also be found in {{favilink|haberdasher}} inventories. Some can also be found on the {{favilink|flattened remains}}. There are 5 types of wire, each with varying lengths. They are valued the same, and look the same except for the longest wire, 50', which is bright red. Note that because these are all separate objects, if a {{favilink|sparking baetyl}} requests wires of a specific length, only those of that exact length will work.
Wire strands can be found in stacks of various sizes, including stacks of 1, 3, 10, 20, or 50 strands. The stacks will merge into a single item when picked up. Besides the quest, a {{name}} can be deployed on the ground to create {{favilink|power line|plural}}, or over walls to make them [[wired]] – this also requires the [[Gadget Inspector]] skill.
