How to Get a Issachar Rifle Early

Revision as of 22:39, 3 October 2020 by Teamtoto (talk | contribs)

The outcome of this quest is dynamically generated and based only on the player's choices in the quest. There is no correct answer, as whatever is chosen will be the truth. However, who is Hindriach and the future of Bey Lah is altered depending on the four choices that a player makes. There are keywords that will be used throughout:

  • Circumstance: The supporting evidence, as explained by Angohind.
  • Motive: The evidence that indicts a thief (or implicating evidence, according to Angohind).
  • Thief: The thief accused.
  • Climate: The overall mood of Bey Lah.

Motive

Note Type Accusing Found
Apparently, the Hindriarch isolated herself to work on a mystery project possibly to hide Kindrish. Craft Keh found talking to villagers.
Rumor has it that the village is flush with water, perhaps because Keh made a big trade. Trade Keh found talking to the villagers.
I found an empty injector near the Hindriarch's bedroll. Why doesn't anyone know she was sick? Illness Keh found lying near Hindriarch Keh's bedroll.
I found a bloody arrow on the paths of Bey Lah. Its fletching resembles the ones found in Hindriarch Keh's quiver. Violence Keh found on the ground
The faundren claim that Eskhind left the village sporting a poorly-made leather bracer, possibly to conceal Kindrish. Craft Eskhind Found by asking the villagers
I found the village stores of Bey Lah untouched; Eskhind must have traded something for her basics. Trade Eskhind Found looking at the village stores (a chest in the house Neelahind is next to)
The faundren tell me that Eskhind's sister had a period of complete silence; she may have been ill. Illness Eskhind Found by asking the faundren.
Eskhind is showing signs of a leg injury. Perhaps she was in a fight. Violence Eskhind found by examining/looking at Eskhind.
Rumor has it that Kesehind has always worn hand-me-down armor, but he was recently seen with a brand new set. Craft Kesehind found by talking to the villagers.
I found a worn-out bracer abandoned near Kesehind's bedroll Trade Kesehind found on the ground near Kesehind's bedroll.
The faundren tell me that Kesehind went quiet for a few weeks, only to become louder than ever again. Illness Kesehind Found by talking to the faundren.
Kesehind tried to clean blood off his armor, but missed a spot. Violence Kesehind Found by looking at Kesehind, and he is covered in blood.
I found a set of foreign leatherworking tools on the village paths. A kendren crafter has been here. Craft Kendren found lying on the ground.
The scouts have seen kendren treasure hunters about. That type will take anything not nailed down. Trade Kendren Found by talking to the hindren scouts.
Theft by kendren is very common during an outbreak of disease like the ones the villagers describe. Illness Kendren Found by asking the villagers
The Bey Lah scouts have had trouble with violent kendren. What if one slipped by? Violence Kendren found by talking to the scouts.

Climate

Climate has three different values depending on the Circumstance and the Motive. If both are either Trade or Craft, the climate is Prosperous. If both are either Illness or Violence, the climate is Tumultuous. Else, the climate is mixed. This directly has an effect on the final outcome: however, the accusation's climate is not always the outcome's climate. The climate also alters how much repuation is given to the player after completing the quest: +200 reputation for a prosperous climate, and +100 for mixed climate. The player does not gain any reputation for a tumultuous climate.

Motive\Circumstance Trade Craft Violence Illness
Trade Prosperous Prosperous Mixed Mixed
Craft Prosperous Prosperous Mixed Mixed
Violence Mixed Mixed Tumultuous Tumultuous
Illness Mixed Mixed Tumultuous Tumultuous

Thief

The thief can be 4 different characters: Hindriarch Keh, Kesehind, Eskhind, or a kendren (an outsider).

However, they cannot be accused by certain clues. Doing a poor accusation prevents you from accusing them again.

Possible Thief Cannot be accused with
Kendren bloody patch of fur, seeing a trader, sore throats in the village, missing leather stores, worn bracer
Kesehind splintered weapon haft, talking late at night, smell of yuckwheat tea, sound of crafting at night
Eskhind bloody watervine, bulging waterskin, great saltback print, pool of putrescence, foreign leatherworking tools
Keh heard infighting, heard loud splashing, scratched copper nugget, severed tongue, leather scraps

Outcome

The final outcome of the quest will depend on three main parts: the accused thief, the climate, and whether the  crumpled sheet of paper was delivered to Neelahind.

After 3 days (3,600 turns) after completing Kith and Kin, the village will undergo its outcome depending on the player's choices.
