Chest
A chest is a common type of furniture found in villages, lairs, dungeons, and other locations throughout the world. They have the ability to store items, and will often spawn with valuable loot inside.
Chests can be picked up and held in a creature's inventory while still containing items.
Tips
This section is opinion-based. Your mileage may vary.
- Storing important items inside a chest which is carried in the player's inventory can help circumvent the name-scrambling effect of confusion; the player can simply search through their items until they find one which has the option to be opened, which must be their chest. This allows reliable access the item(s) stored within. When storing multiple types of items, they can be distinguished from one another by keeping track of how many of each one is stored, as the number of items in a stack will still be visible when confused. Useful items to store include:
witchwood bark for emergency healing. (When already confused, eating witchwood bark has no downside)
yuckwheat stems, in order to cure the confusion.
- A recoiler, to allow an escape if one manages to get far away from danger to use it.
- Items stored inside of chests are protected from many secondary special effects applied by creatures, such as rust and breaking.
