Looking

Look at things by pressing 'l'.

Press 'l' and scroll around to look at things. Looking at something can tell you a great deal about it. For example, looking at a creature will tell you the creature's name, physical description, approximate health, equipment worn, your chance of defeating it in combat, and its attitude toward you.
