During the quest We Are Starfreight, 
Barathrum the Old ascends the Spindle with the player character (if he has not been killed prior to this point). Based on information that the player has uncovered through the course of the game, they may be presented with dialogue options that cause Barathrum to reveal the true nature of 
Resheph and the history of the end of the sultanate.
One of the following must be true for the player to reveal Barathrum's hidden dialogue during ascent:
- They found and read the
torn sheet of graph paper. - They read or looked at Barathrum's copy of
Crime and Punishment. - They spoke to
Mak and he told the player why he hates Resheph. - They spoke to
Geeub about the "machine speaker and her ursine apprentice". - They spoke to
Yla Haj.
For each of these conditions, a different dialogue option will appear for Barathrum during the ascent. However, they all eventually lead back to the same conversation.
