A {{name}} is an [[artifact]] that assists the player in destroying [[walls]] and other structural objects. It occupies both hand slots and the back slot when equipped.
 
The nanopneumatic jackhammer requires an [[energy cell]] or some other form of power to function. When powered and equipped, the jackhammer has a [[PV|penetration]] bonus of {{PV}}24 against walls, and will deal 1/4 of its target's total HP in damage with each successful attack. Each attack made with the jackhammer will drain 1 charge.{{Code Reference|namespace=XRL.World.Parts|class=Drill}}. [[Overloaded]] {{name}}s deal 1/3 of the target's HP instead and drains 4 charges, making them faster but also less power-efficient.
 
Equipping the nanopneumatic jackhammer grants the "Dig" activated ability; this ability is a form of autoact which allows the player to select a tile as a target destination, regardless of distance or visibility. Confirming one's selection will cause the player to move in a straight line to the destination, while automatically attacking and destroying any walls in the way.
