torch (unburnt)
A length of brinestalk wrapped in oil-soddened cloth.
The torch (unburnt) is the first light source the player will come across in the game. It is the only light source that has applications in combat. If something is hit with a torch, be it in a hand or after being thrown, the temperature is increased by 3d20, but the total cannot exceed 400.
