The fine glass-like fibers of this compact feline's coat collect and bend the light of far stars into strange, semiophorous loops.

ray cats are docile cats that give off a light of radius 4, about the same as a torch. If the player pets them (provided that they have positive cat reputation), the player will become phosphorescent, glowing for 100-200 turns with a radius of 3.

They often appear within the flower fields, and rarely other locations. They also appear in farm pens at the Stiltgrounds, where they are kept in pens by {favilink|cat herder|plural}}.

There is a unique ray cat that wanders Joppa called Ctesiphus.
