A symbiotic firefly is a light source which can be equipped in the Floating Nearby slot and grants 400 reputation with the Insects faction (enough to offset the -475 reputation that the player starts with), but will be destroyed permanently if ever unequipped. Additionally, they are among the most expensive light sources, with a commerce value of $400.00.
