<!-- END QBE -->
&cWaydroids are a type of robot, presumably built by the Barathrumites to guard Grit Gate against intruders. They will attack anyone not holding a droid scrambler, and will be friendly to anyone with a scrambler in their inventory, as well as their companions.
&cWaydroids are robots typically found in Grit Gate. According to Argyve, they were built by the Barathrumites to guard Grit Gate.

Droid Scrambler Vulnerability
If the player character is holding a droid scrambler either in their main inventory or an equipment slot, waydroids are initially friendly towards them and their companions. Otherwise, they react like other robots (hostile by default). The scrambler has no effect if held by a creature that is not the player character or dominated by the player character. In particular, having a companion hold it is ineffectual.

When a name is affected by a droid scrambler, it will no longer grant XP, even if the droid scrambler is dropped. However, yet-to-be-loaded waydroids will be unaffected.

Tips
* Their shockrod often create electrical arcs, making combat alongside them hazardous and infighting common once their current target has been dispatched.
* The non-dormant waydroids inside the Barathrumite enclave are a variant named "sleeping waydroids". They initially spawn asleep and are Barathrumite faction members (and thus are neutral toward the player by default, even without a scrambler).object

Trivia
Trivia
While, for all in-game intents and purposes, &cwaydroids are the creations of the Barathrumites, they are actually technically part of the otherwise invisible &cwaydroids faction. This is likely done to give them a separate reputation stat, allowing &cwaydroids friendliness to be based off whether the player is holding a droid scrambler, rather than if they are friends with the Barathrumites.
* Although they were ostensibly built by the Barathrumites, waydroids found outside the enclave are not members of the Barathrumites faction. Waydroids used to have their own hidden faction that was not mechanically related to the Barathrumites, except insofar as waydroids were neutral towards them. (The only other faction they were neutral towards was grazing hedonists; they were hostile towards all others.) Waydroids were changed to be members of the robots faction, while the defunct waydroids faction was later removed in patch 2.0.203.41.
* Following the robots faction change mentioned above, sleeping waydroids inside the Barathrumite enclave, once awoken, were hostile toward the Barathrumites and the player (without a scrambler) by default. This was fixed in patch 2.0.203.18.
