Dozens of tiny mouths tessellate the infected skin, their moist lips pursing in asynchronicity and panting out prattle. Every so often, the cacophony harmonizes into sensible speech.

Mumble mouth is a seemingly sentient fungal infection that can affect a variety of body parts. The infection takes up the infected body slot, preventing items from being equipped to that slot.

When the infected player enters a new zone, each mumble mouth infection checks individually whether it has visited the zone before. If a particular mumble mouth infection has not been in the zone before, there is a 5% chance that the infection mumbles forth a secret, revealing either an undiscovered location somewhere else in the world, or a piece of secret lore that the player has not yet learned. The revealed location or secret is added to the player's journal.

Each mumble mouth infection has the following effects on the player:

• -200 reputation with the Consortium of Phyta

The infection has the following additional properties depending on which type of body part is infected:
