A {{name}} is an (almost always hostile) creature found in {{gamename}}. Some can always be found at the bottom-most layer of {{favilink|red rock}} as a part of the [[What's Eating the Watervine?]] [[:Category:Quests|quest]]. (Technically, these are different from normal {{name|plural}}, as explained below.)
A {{name}} is a creature belonging to the [[Girsh]] and [[arachnids]] factions. Girshlings can be found within {{favilink|Golgotha}}, and a [[#Red Rock Girshling|special variety]] can always be found on the bottom level of {{favilink|Red Rock}}.{{File Ref|file=EncounterTables}}

There two varieties of {{name}}, the “normal” {{name|plural}}, which have the “Girshling” objectID, and a second variety, which has the objectID “RedrockGirshling.
Girshlings attack in melee with their {{favilink page|Data:Claw (girshling)|plural}}, natural [[Short Blade|short blade]] weapons that deal {{Heart}}{{dice tooltip|1d6}} damage each.{{File Ref|file=ObjectBlueprints|name=Object}}

{{name|plural}} of this second variety are the same as regular {{name}} except that their corpse drop chance is 100% and seeing one triggers the completion of [[What's Eating the Watervine?]]'s step of finding a creature.
Girshlings are swarmers, meaning a girshling will receive a +1 bonus to their to-hit and [[penetration]] rolls for every other swarmer adjacent to their target.{{Code Reference|class=Swarmer}}

== Red Rock Girshling ==
A special variety of girshling can be found on the 4th floor of Red Rock, and is integral to the [[What's Eating the Watervine?]] quest. Seeing one of these girshlings will automatically fufill the "Find the critters" step of the quest.<ref name="Object"/>

The girshlings found in Red Rock are identical to normal girshlings, save for the fact that they have a 100% chance to drop a {{favilink|girshling corpse}} on death,<ref name="Object"/> which is required to complete What's Eating the Watervine?. Though this makes completing the quest far easier, it is not necessary to obtain a girshling corpse from these girshlings, and in fact a girshling corpse obtained from any source will satisfy the quest's requirements.
