{{Name}} is a [[Mutations#Mental Mutations|mental mutation]] that allows the player to summon allied plants to fight for them.

==Summoning Plants==
Using Burgeoning on a non-occluding tile within 8 tiles will spawn plants in a 3x3 radius centered on the chosen tile, with a 20% chance for additional plants to grow in the surrounding tiles. These plants will be allied to the creature who summoned them, and thus hostile to anything that is hostile towards said creature. The plants summoned by Burgeoning can be attacked by the creature who summoned them without fear of retaliation, but will grant no [[Experience|XP]] when defeated.
Summoning a plant on an nonoccluding tile will spawn a plant on top. The surrounding cells will also have a 20% chance of spawning an additional plant. The plant spawned has a 50% chance of being the "main plant" type and the other 50% chance will be randomly chosen based on burgeoning level.

===Main Plant by Tier===
What plants are summoned specifically when Burgeoning is used is determined by mutation level. This in turn determines the user's "[[#Summoning Tier|plant summoning level]]" from which burgeoned plant can be chosen from.
Plant tier is determined by <math>\bigg\lceil\frac{\text{Level}}{2.0}\bigg\rceil + \text{Random}(-1, 2)</math>, where 0 is the lowest possible tier and 8 is the highest possible tier. The population table that this mutation rolls from depends on this tier. If <code>bQudzuOnly</code> is set to true, then it will only spawn {{favilink|qudzu}}.
==Summoning Tier==
Each plant that can be summoned when Burgeoning is used falls into one or more "tiers". What tier of plants the user's Burgeoning will draw from is determined by mutation level. 0 is the lowest possible tier, whereas 8 is the highest possible tier. When Burgeoning is used, one plant from the corresponding tier will be chosen as the "main" plant; 50% of the plants summoned will be the main plant, while the other 50% will be other plants from the same tier. If <code>bQudzuOnly</code> is set to true, then only {{favilink|qudzu}} will be summoned regardless of mutation level.

One plant will be chosen from this chosen weighted table and will be selected as the "main plant" that will be the majority of the plants in that burgeoning spawned.

==Formulas==
The following formulas are used to determine cooldown and plant summoning tier (rounded up) based on mutation level.
{|class="wikitable"
! Cooldown
| {{simple formula| 115 - 10 * Level }}
|-
! Plant Summoning Tier
| {{simple formula| (Level/2) + Random(-1, 2)}}
|}
Note in this case that "Random" designates that a random number between those provided will be factored into the formula. Additionally, if the cooldown formula returns a number less than 5, the cooldown will be set to 5 rounds instead.

==Advantages & Disadvantages ==
===Advantages===
* Allows you to summon allies at a distance to fight for you, letting you avoid direct conflict if needed
* Cooldown rapidly decreases with mutation levels and is decreased further by [[Willpower]]
===Disadvantages===
* Moderate cost at character generation
* Relatively short range that cannot be increased
* Summoned plants can occasionally hurt you accidentally
