fire suppression system will cover the creature it is implanted in with pure gel whenever they begin burning and will continue to do so for as long as the effect persists. This is generally sufficient to keep a creature from being vaporized while swimming in
lava, but will not stop them from taking damage from burning or protect flammable items in their inventory.
Advantages & Disadvantages
This section is opinion-based. Your mileage may vary.
Advantages
- Useful against creatures capable of heat damage such as dawngliders or red jells.
- Does not cost a turn to activate unlike most other forms of temperature reduction.
- Makes the Asphalt Mines much easier to navigate.
- Low cost allows for easy installation without much impact on the user's ability to install other implants.
Disadvantages
- Does not provide actual immunity to heat damage
- Preemptively pouring gel on oneself provides the same benefits without needing to use a cybernetics slot, though consistently sourcing gel can be challenging unless the user were to find a gel weep.
- Boost is fairly niche, somewhat limiting uses outside of specialized builds.
Tips
- Can be used to mitigate or mostly nullify the temperature increase from using overloaded items.
- Allows the user to perform any action while under the effects of blaze injectors without any risk of the tonic ending early.
