The geomagnetic disc must be [[energy|powered]] in order to function, and thus requires an [[Energy Cells|energy cell]] or to be supplied power via the [[Jacked]] item modification. Attempting to throw the disc without power will cause it to behave as a normal throwing weapon would, having a flat {{PV}}5 [[PV]] and dealing only {{Heart}}1 damage.
When the geomagnetic disc is thrown while powered, it will instantly travel to it's target with no throw variance, regardless of distance. Although this means the disc cannot miss due to throw variance, normal accuracy calculations still apply, meaning the target still has a chance to dodge the attack. After being thrown at a valid target, the disc will return to it's thrower, automatically re-equipping itself in the thrown weapon slot. If the disc is not thrown at a valid target, either due to incompatible [[phase]] states or due to not being thrown at a target at all, the disc will travel to it's destination and fall to the grown as a normal thrown item would, even if powered.
Additionally, the geomagnetic disc has the property of bouncing between multiple targets when thrown. After hitting it's initial target, the disc will bounce and hit an additional 5 enemies, randomly targeting any valid creature that is currently engaged in combat with the thrower. The geomagnetic disc is an artifact that acts as a throwing weapon with several unique properties.
