Shattering Blows is a hidden Cudgel skill that is not available to the player.

Currently, the only creatures who have this skill are the great magma crab and the rustacean.

Mechanics

Shattering Blows grants the attacker a 10% chance to inflict one of the following effects with each cudgel attack:

• If the target is the player, a longer-duration version of the cracked effect on one random piece of the player's equipment.
• If the target is not the player, a longer-duration version of the cleaved effect.

Both effects last for 2000 turns, which is longer than a full day in game. Both effects can also stack, leading either to cracked pieces of equipment with a greater than -1 AV penalty, or to a cleaved effect on the creature with a greater than -1 AV penalty.
