Rents in their scales widen as they flexes their petrified joints, and dust powders the ground beneath them. Under their stalactite eyelids, a lithifying bale is whisked into focus.

Lithofex are typically found deep underground, and can instantly kill most creatures by petrifying them with their Stone Gaze mutation. Tiles about to be targeted with the Stone Gaze are highlighted in red; creatures remaining in these tiles when the mutation is triggered are instantly turned to stone by a beam of light. The beam penetrates walls and creatures, and can be reflected by light reflecting effects such as glitter. Lithofex themselves are immune to the effects of the Stone Gaze mutation.
