You, but mechanical is a pet, a companion to the player that can be selected during character creation, available exclusively to patrons of Freehold Games. They are, as their name implies, a mechanical version of the player themselves.
You, but mechanical uses the same tile as the player colored cyan, and their display name will be "mechanical [player's name]". However, many of their properties differ from the player: they will have different attributes, they will not begin the game with any items the player would normally start with, and they will not begin the game with any mutations or cybernetics that the player may have.
Due to their mechanical nature, You, but mechanical will have their heat and cold resistance set to 25, and their electric resistance set to -50. Additionally, You, but mechanical lacks a mind, is made out of metal, is EMP sensitive, does not respire, is immune to poison and the effects of fungal spores, and is unable to utilize tonics. Finally, You, but mechanical bleeds 
oil rather than
