Night-vision googles are rare, low-tier artifacts which provide an unlimited viewing distance in dark environments. Unlit objects and areas will have their primary color replaced by a bright green.

  • The additional viewing distance is helpful for ranged combat and spotting faraway threats in underground environments.
  • Night vision goggles do not make the player more stealthy; most non-player creatures have night vision or a comparable ability which lets them detect the player in total darkness.
  • The green color may be disabled in the Options screen ("disable full-screen color effects").
