throwing axe
A small axe, balanced for throwing.
The throwing axe is the signature weapon of Jotun, Who Parts Limbs. It has very high penetration and damage values, and as a result, it can cause significant damage upon hitting a target. Other than keeping one's distance to avoid being hit, having high AV is one of the best potential countermeasures to mitigate the damage.
The throwing axe does not benefit from any Axe skills or axe-related proficiencies, despite having "axe" in its name. For example, it does not cause the cleaved effect or dismember targets that it hits. It also cannot obtain mods that axes normally could, such as serrated. It can be modded only with general mods or thrown weapon mods.
Thrown Weapon Behavior
Main article: Thrown weapon combat
Like all thrown weapons:
- The throwing axe's throwing penetration is unaffected by strength.[1]
- If the throwing axe is used as a melee weapon, it acts only as a 4/4 1d21-2 (Avg: 1.5) cudgel weapon.[2]
