A stamped plastic disk whose scratches shine with rainbow light.
The scratched data disk is one of several early-game disk quest items that can be used to make contact with the Barathrumites and start the main story quest, More Than a Willing Spirit. It is obtained from the Ruins of Joppa after beginning the game in a non-Joppa village.
The full list of disk items that can initiate this quest include the following. Each disk variant has unique dialog associated with it when activating the 
communications panel in 
Grit Gate.
