The aloe volta is a succulent that, while normally stationary and lacking any method of attack, will discharge electricity when stepped on.

When a creature, including the player, walks over the tile an aloe volta is located on, it will discharge electricity to everything within a 3x3 radius (including it's own tile), dealing ♥4d44-16 (Avg: 10) in electrical damage to everything it hits. This electricity can arc further to targets adjacent to those caught in the initial radius. The aloe itself is non-conductive, and immune to electrical damage.

After being stepped on, the aloe volta will enter a cooldown period of 100 rounds, during which time it will not discharge electricity and will be brown in color. When this cooldown has elapsed, the aloe will return to it's normal yellow color and will be able to discharge once again.[1]
