carbide shield
A large shield, meant to be secured to your hand.
Shields only grant their AV when you successfully block an attack.
A carbide shield is a tier 3 shield. When held in hand, it grants a base 25% chance to block attacks in melee combat. Like other metal items, it is susceptible to rust and can be pulled towards pulsed field magnets.
It is mechanically identical to the eyeless crab shell, except that the carbide shield weighs less.
