A heavy metal sphere, which hums quietly.
The droid scrambler is a special item that, when properly identified and held in a creature's inventory, will force all 
waydroids to be friendly with them.
It can be found by completing Weirdwire Conduit.. Eureka! and having 
Argyve give it to you. If the player has started in an alternative village, one will be located on the human corpse in the remains of 
Joppa. Its data disk can also be sold at various schematics sellers.

- Holding this is especially helpful while traversing through
Grit Gate, where the majority of waydroids are located. This includes the Barathrumite Enclave. - The waydroids located inside the enclave are partially allied with the Barathrumites. If a waydroid sees the player without a scrambler, they will be hostile, and retaliation may make the Barathrumites hostile to the player in turn.
- Killing waydroids that were affected by the scrambler (entering the zone while having it in the inventory) will not grant exp, even if the scrambler is later disposed of to make them hostile later. For maximum experience, it is recommended to drop or disassemble the scrambler before traversing lower Grit Gate.
- This and
pump shotguns are some of the earliest sources of <3> bits.
