You know why I'm here, Slog.

The Cloaca Surprise is a recipe that is taught by Slog of the Cloaca for 50 Mollusk reputation. Slog will not teach this to True Kin. Eating this recipe will cause the player's body to morph into a body similar to Slog's. Their sprite will transform into Slog's, but horizontally flipped and with white as the main tile color.

Body Slots

The player sprite will retain their original tile colors, which is usually bright white with detail colors depending on their calling or caste.

The consumer's original body will be swapped with a body plan with the following:

• Head
• Feelers (face)
• Back
• Hands
• Hand x2
• Missile Weapon x2
• Tail
• Thrown Weapon
• Floating Nearby
• Extra body parts from mutations like Multiple Legs or the Chimera Genotype stay and are added on to this.

Compared to a default human body plan, this means:

• No Arm slots (or two less if extra are granted by mutations)
  • Hand slots and Worn On Hands slots are unaffected
• No Feet slot (or one less if extra are granted by mutations)
  • This can negate Hooks for Feet (D) unless the character has extra feet, in which case the hooks will move to those.
  • The player can no longer become prone unless they still have feet
• First face slot will be renamed to Feelers (any other faces will remain the same)
• The mutation Bilge Sphincter will be granted
• A tail slot will grow with the Bilge Sphincter as a melee weapon
  • This part is considered essential, preventing it from being dismembered
  • If the player already has a tail from a mutation like Stinger (Poisoning Venom), a second tail will be grown, dividing the AV bonus of the Sphincter in half due to the usual rule of defense stats averaged between multiple of the same body parts.

Bilge Sphincter

All associated effects that come with Bilge Sphincter:

• +50 Movement Speed in liquids with volume greater than 200
• +6 Strength
• +100 Acid resist (armor can still be destroyed)
• +1 AV
• +300 reputation with Mollusks
• Can poison enemies on hit
• Can spit liquid at other creatures to make them prone

Consuming the Surprise

... You feel an uncomfortable pressure across the length of your body. Feelers rip through your scalp and shudder with curiosity. A bilge hose painted with mucus undulates out of your lower body. It spews the amniotic broth of its birth from its sputtering mouth.

The following gets added into the Journal:

You ate the Cloaca Surprise.

Attempting to eat the surprise again will give the player this message:

Your genome has already undergone this transformation.

Interaction With Crystal Delight

Eating this dish after the Crystal Delight overwrites the changes the Surprise has made to the player's body plan, meaning any body parts gained or lost from the prior transformation will be reverted before applying the new transformation. The special mutation from the prior transformation will be kept, which in this case is Crystallinity.

Trivia

Prior to Patch 204.53, characters with the Chimera genotype did not transform upon consuming the Cloaca Surprise, and were instead shown the message "Your stomach gurgles pleasantly."
