Skin peels on the tuber belly as it hums with grounding bass, and the shoots throb in upsetting staccato.
Dreadroots are harvestable plants that can terrify nearby creatures through a unique mutation called Fear Aura. Upon creation, each dreadroot has a 1:10 chance of spawning ripe and does not ripen over time. Ripe dreadroots have a brown coloration, while unripe dreadroots have a black coloration. When harvested, a ripe dreadroot will yield a single 
dreadroot tuber. Additionally, all dreadroots have a 15% chance to drop a tuber upon death.
Lore
According to 
Agate Severance Star, dreadroot is actually the same plant as the 
lahbloom, although its "petals" have been stripped off by the Baboons and Snapjaws which live in the 
desert canyons.
