The molting baslisk is a creature that can be found within the depths of Bethesda Susa. If one is in the zone, there will be many molting basilisk husks scattered throughout. The only tell that one is the actual creature is that the belly will be brown instead of a black.

Even the look command will not autosnap to this creature, and the display name will be molting basilisk husk. It will remain perfectly still unless the player is standing right next to it, with negative Unshelled reptiles reputation. Then it will strike with its \stony bite. Getting hit by this bite will inflict a stony debuff, which decreases movespeed, with the intensity of the penalty stacking depending on how many times stony is inflicted.
