Q Girl is a unique legendary Barathrumite located within Grit Gate. She prefers to hang out in the center hub near several gadgets. Aside from being loved by Barathrumites, she will always have these three reasons for factions to like or dislike her:
- like/loved for developing a quantum mechanical model
- disliked for her queer appearance
- hated for questioning the legitimacy of a faction's hierarchies
When water ritualled, she can teach the base Tinkering skill and up to three tinkering recipes. However, she cannot asked to join. The player character can compliment her hair if they do not have Monochrome to gain the That Was Nice achievement.
Q Girl is not a restocking merchant, but sells several items, which include a cheap version of a cybernetics credit wedge 1¢, along with a chance of all types of rough gemstones, with a 50% of each gemstone to appear.
She, along with Otho, hold a single use life loop that upon their death, will teleport her into Barathrum's Study. Afterwards, the loop breaks, preventing it from being used again. However, she will prefer to run away when below 30% HP.
Character
Q Girl is a cheerful, energetic Barathrumite. Her favorite word to say is "Quetzal", which she says when she wants to express a feeling similar to the one when seeing a bird of the same name. True to her description, she is brightly colored compared to the rest of the Barathrumites who are mostly white and brown. Based on her unique faction relationship reasons, some factions dislike her for that exact appearance.
She is talented in the field of technology as well as philosophy. Along with creating blueprints and instructions for the main story, she also invented the Barathrum clock with Q Girl pendulum which can be found randomly across Qud. She has also penned two books that can be found in game: Disquisition on the Malady of the Mimic and From Entropy to Hierarchy, the latter being a reason why a faction can hate her. A canonical example of this is written about in Council at Gamma Rock. Her teachings in 'From Entropy to Hierarchy' influenced twelve wardens to form the Quetzal Caucus. Other wardens were hostile to their proposal and called the ideas of the Caucus and Q Girl "traitorous chattel".
Tips
- The gemstones are good to trade for because at the point the player will most likely meet her (after More Than a Willing Spirit), the gemstones will be the most efficient value/weight item the player will have. They are also trade goods, so the value will always be the same.
