Rents in their scales widen as they flexes their petrified joints, and dust powders the ground beneath them. Under their stalactite eyelids, a lithifying bale is whisked into focus.

Perfect

Lithofex are typically found deep underground, and can instantly kill most creatures by petrifying them with their Stone Gaze mutation. Tiles about to be targeted with the Stone Gaze are highlighted in red; creatures remaining in these tiles when the gaze mutation is triggered must make a Toughness save with difficulty 20 or be instantly turned to stone.[1] The beam penetrates walls and creatures, and can be reflected by light reflecting effects such as glitter dust, Refractive equipment, and Light Manipulation. Lithofex are immune to their own gaze, but not to the effects of another lithofex's gaze.

When a player or other creature is turned to stone by the lithofex, they will take on the appearance of a statue (with a horizontal stone base) and have the name "stone statue of <creature name>".
