pickaxe
Its head is a shard of fullerite, pointed on one end and flat on the other. Its handle is a pole of fiberglass wrapped in fraying wood.
A simple, if uncommon, digging implement. It will destroy any wall after eight successful penetrations.
For walls with a high armor value (AV), it may take quite a few attempted hits to penetrate with the pickaxe. However, the player is always guaranteed to penetrate on a critical hit (a roll of 20 on the 1d20 hit roll). As a result, with patience, even the most well-armored wall can be destroyed.
Obtaining
- A pickaxe is guaranteed to be found on the ancient bones in the waterlogged tunnel between Joppa and Red Rock.
- Mafeo always will sell a pickaxe at Grit Gate.
Considerations
This section is opinion-based. Your mileage may vary.
- Although it will destroy walls with eight successful penetrations, it is not particularly effective compared to the nanopneumatic jackhammer or Burrowing Claws due to its poor inherent penetration.
