The fine glass-like fibers of this compact feline's coat collect and bend the light of far stars into strange, semiophorous loops.

ray cats are docile cats that give off a light of radius 4, about the same as a torch. If the player pets them (provided that they have positive cat reputation, otherwise they will be unable to pet the ray cat), the player will become phosphorescent, glowing for 100-200 turns with a radius of 3.

They often appear within the flower fields, and rarely other locations. They also appear in farm pens at the Stiltgrounds, where they are kept in pens by cat herders.

There is a unique ray cat that wanders Joppa called Ctesiphus.

Trivia

Caution: This article or section contains unverified speculation and should not be considered canonical.
  • This may be a reference to an idea explored by the Human Interference Task Force to create cats that would glow when near high levels of radiation.[1][2]
