From the great, sloping forehead of this man-ape sprouts no hair, though rich black fur courses over the rest of their body. Broad knuckles bear the brunt of their weight as the beast saunters forth in search of something to clobber.
An ogre ape is a creature belonging to the apes faction. Ogre apes can be found in underground ruins, within the lair of Oboroqoru, Ape God, and very rarely in jungle tiles.[1]
Ogre apes have an aggressive base demeanor, and will be hostile to the player unless the player is favored by apes. Ogre apes attack with their \ape fists, natural cudgel weapons that deal 3d33-9 (Avg: 6) damage. To complement their fists, ogre apes possess the Cudgel Proficiency, Bludgeon, Slam, Flurry, and Offhand Strikes skills.[2]
When an ogre ape dies, they have a 10% chance to drop an ogre ape corpse.
Butchering Yield
When butchered, an ogre ape corpse yields one of the following items:[3]
- An ogre ape heart
- An ogre ape pelt
- One of the following high-tier ogre fur items. These items all grant resistance to heat and cold as well as a +1 bonus to Toughness. Ogre fur items are the only type of equipment other than sultan masks that grant a bonus to Toughness.
