- One might conjecture that bananas gain their somewhat mystical cooking properties from the "Spindle glitter" that seemingly has fallen on them. Both bananas and sun-dried bananas are described as being covered in such.
- sun-dried bananas granting Psychometry is possibly a reference to how, in India, bananas were once called the "Fruit of the Wise Men", and according to Indian legend, great thinkers would meditate in the shade of banana trees and would eat their fruit.
