The range can be further increased based on available compute power. Every 10 units of compute power will increase the radius by one square.
While the radar is on, the area around the player is tinted cyan, making it difficult to see the colors of liquids or monsters. This is a purely visual effect, and you can still use the look command on anything in range to verify what it is. You can alternatively toggle the radar on and off, which takes no time.
