hyper-elastic ankle tendons is a lower cost feet-exclusive cybernetic which upon installation provides a +6 bonus to the user's movement speed which essentially translates to being able to move one additional time every 16 or so turns. This boost is considered permanent and can stack with other sources of movement speed.
Advantages & Disadvantages
Advantages
- Can allow the user to slowly outpace most hostile creatures.
- Marginally useful for more fragile ranged characters who in some contexts can slowly create distance between themselves and hostile creatures in order to safety dispatch them at range.
- Slightly useful in the
salt dunes, the additional movement speed combined with the flat terrain of the region can allow the user to slowly escape
Dawnglider.
Disadvantages
- Is fully or mostly replaceable with
sandals of the river-wives or
yeshyrskin slippers without needing to use a finite cybernetics slot.
- Unless running away in an open field, being able to move one extra time every 16 turns generally isn't fast enough to outrun creatures in many situations.
Tips
- Due to
skulk injectors providing an increase to movement speed equal to 40% of the user's baseline movement speed, having hyper-elastic ankle tendons installed slightly increases the bonus granted by the tonic.
