The taut muscles of this wild cat are sheathed in interlocking, maize plates of chitin.
A chitinous puma is a well-armored and (thanks to its Charge and Sprint abilities) extremely fast member of the Cats faction.
Due to their speed and armor, the fact that they are hostile at the start of the game (due to the player’s negative starting Reputation with the Cats faction), and the fact that they can appear in the Salt Marsh, chitinous pumas are a fairly dangerous threat in the early game.
