An agolfly is a Girsh creature found inside Golgotha[1] and in the lairs of mid-tier Insects. It primarily attacks using its *jaundiced glow, firing rays of jaundiced light with very high accuracy each turn. Despite their name, these rays are not light-based and cannot be refracted.
Agolflies, agolmaggots, and
agolzvuvs are all of a Girsh species of fly.
Tips
This section is opinion-based. Your mileage may vary.
- The high agolfly's jaundiced glow makes it especially dangerous inside Golgotha, where higher AV equipment could be rendered unusable by rust at any moment. In the Cloaca, being caught out in the open by one can quickly prove deadly, as without
night vision installed or a functional set of metal
night-vision goggles, an agolfly could see and start firing at the player character long before it's within range of visibility.
- Creating walls to hide behind using either the
Force Bubble or
Force Wall mutation would be ideal, but the player may be forced to use existing walls to coax an agolfly closer.
- Burning some of Golgotha's abundant
trash and/or denizens will create temporary light sources and gaseous hazards, while burning an agolfly can chew through its 35 HP while ignoring its relatively high DV.
- Groups of 4-8
ogre ape corpses can be randomly encountered[2] strewn around ruins and the
flower fields[3]. It's possible to butcher non-metal hats and gauntlets with 3 AV each from these corpses.
