kaleidoslug

By a bright enough light, it nearly glows. How the hide of its striped trunk shines like ribbons of painted glass suspended in a crystal shell -- and yet it moves. Its fractal gills waft in an unseen current, and from time to time, it croons a soft and howling melody.

Perfect

A kaleidoslug is a grazing hedonist living wild in the Palladium Reef and domesticated in the Yd Freehold. Its ♥300 HP and halved damage from elemental attacks give a kaleidoslug remarkable sturdiness; it will survive combat with other creatures in the Reef a majority of the time, but it does not instigate any of these fights.

Three different highly valuable items can be butchered from a kaleidoslug corpse: kaleidocera muffs, kaleidocera krakows, or a kaleidocera cape. All three have the same stats: ♦1 AV, ○1 DV, +20 to all four elemental resistances, and 1 Ego. Note that killing a kaleidoslug has a mere 6% chance of producing a butcherable corpse.

Freehold Kaleidoslug Jamboree

The traditional recipe of the  Yd Freehold, Tongue and Cheek, grants a metabolized effect where the player character can attempt to Beguile an adjacent creature every time they  Jump. Unlike  Beguiling via mutation, Beguiling via cooking effect can keep unlimited creatures recruited at once for as long as the metabolized effect is active.

  • Eating an unpreserved  bop cheek, native to the Reef, causes the consumer to jump without using an activated ability.
  • The Freehold ranch where  Rokhas works holds several kaleidoslugs in close quarters.
