A fire suppression system will cover the creature it is implanted in with pure gel whenever they begin burning and will continue to do so for as long as the effect persists. This is generally sufficient to keep a creature from being vaporized while swimming in lava, but will not stop them from taking damage from burning or protect flammable items in their inventory.
