Cloning draught is a rare liquid that is able to clone any organic object by either pouring it on them or being consumed by it. An item or creature covered in cloning draught is homogenized.
Sources of Cloning Draught
- One dram will be on the ground on a random tile in a slime bog.
- Very rarely, will be sold by ichor merchants and chefs
- The alchemist is guaranteed to have one dram of cloning draught for sale.
Uses of Cloning Draught
- Worth 1250 commerce a dram
- Can clone creatures and items. (For more indepth information, see #Cloning.)
Cloning
To clone something, the cloning draught must be pure with no other liquids. It can be either poured on, drank, or cooked with.
Drinking cloning draught returns the following message:
You feel unsettlingly ambivalent. |
Eligibility for Cloning
- Creatures that can hunger and thirst
- Not inorganic matter (including creatures that have been modified by a Graftek)
Effects
Cloning a creature will apply the Budding effect to them. After a given amount of turns, a new clone of them will burst from the body, and a few blood splashes will spawn. If cooked with, 1 to 3 new clones will spawn over a period of turns.[1]
If the cloned creature is a merchant, they will spawn with an empty inventory, but will restock individually from the original.
Similar Items
metamorphic polygel is an item that can create copies of inventory items, instead of living things. While similar in function, metamorphic polygel is not at all mechanically related to cloning draught. Metamorphic polygel is not a liquid, and cannot be combined or used in the same way as cloning draught. They are completely different objects with different uses.
