Birds are a initially neutral faction towards the player character. They are all winged and enjoy gossip and song.

Although the player starts neutral, there is a reason to raise it to +250 (liked) so that dawngliders, which are aggressive, will not attack. However, for dawngliders to be neutral to the player, the player must have positive reputation with both birds and unshelled reptiles.

Legendary Birds

Legendary birds are dynamic encounters that can be located anywhere and do not automatically mark their location in the journal. They do not significantly change their surroundings, but there may be neutral dawngliders, which signifies they are following a legendary glowcrow, which is where they inherited their neutrality. Legendary birds will have a minstrel's token in their inventory that only exists for trading value.
