bionic liver is a moderate cost cybernetic implant which upon installation grants the user complete immunity to poison damage and related effects as well as protection against all diseases.
The disease protection applies to glotrot, monochrome and ironshank. As long as the implant is installed, the user will be unable to contract any of the three onset conditions or the diseases themselves through the random effect inflicting attack of zero jells. Additionally, any currently incubating diseases will be prevented from advancing to the next stage, even if the user would have otherwise failed the required Toughness saves. This protection however, does not extend to diseases which have already fully manifested, necessitating that the user seek out traditional means of
treatment.
Despite the similarity to diseases Fungal infections and their onset condtion are not prevented by the bionic liver.
The poison immunity prevents the user from being afflicted with the poisoned status effect and allows the user to freely walk through clouds of poison gas no matter how thick without taking damage or suffering from status effects. In addition, the implant will also neutralize the effects of certain poison-based attacks possessed by some creatures. Such attacks include: The
Stinger (Paralyzing Venom) used by
scorpiocks, the stony effect inflicted by the bite of
molting basilisks and
lithofexes and phase spider venom possesed by
phase spiders
Advantages & Disadvantages
Advantages
- Provides protection against the stony effect inflicted by
molting basilisks and the poison often applied en masse by swarms of
ickslugs commonly found in
Bethesda Susa.
- Makes posioues gas complety safe to move through and inhale, opening up ultily options with means of generating the gas, such as
poison gas grenades
Disadvantages
- Outside of the early game, creatures capable of inflicting poison are rare, limiting the usefulness of resisting it.
Golgotha considerations
Golgotha relative to other static locations contains an expectational number of threats which in some fashion employ poison
